Family Planning…Or Not!! More Tips for a Healthy Yoni

If you are not currently at this stage of life, you might smile, or give a sigh of relief that this is not something you currently have to deal with. However, if you are at this stage, you know that nothing can quite be as stressful as waiting for your period. (shout out to R&B singer Mya).  As women, hoping to be pregnant, or praying that you are not, can cause soo much anxiety.  If you are trying to get pregnant, the outcome of being pregnant is joyous and miraculous (if you are trying to get pregnant and have not yet conceived, we will address this in a future article).  But if you are not planning to get pregnant, and then do, the choices of going through an unplanned pregnancy, or having an abortion can have huge impacts on your body.  If opting for an abortion, even the oral pill (while seemingly not) can also greatly affect your body.  For many, it’s a matter of taking time for your hormones to rebalance, as well as heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

To avoid this, it is important to be clear on the following things well in advance of any sexual encounter, where sperm may enter your yoni…

  1. Is now the time that I want to get pregnant?
  2. When do I ovulate?
  3. What method of contraception works best for me, should I choose to have sex during my ovulation?

These are the most important questions that every woman of child-bearing age, who has sex with a man, needs to be crystal clear about.  While there are soo many complicated factors, relationships, and events, none of them come close to the repercussions of an unwanted pregnancy.  If this isn’t you, or you are clear about your answers, please pass this on to someone who you think might not be as clear, and help them work this very important thing out.
