Meet Dr. Danett

I help women heal naturally — and reclaim their energy, vitality, and longevity — through fibroids, postnatal depletion, perimenopause, menopause, healthy aging, and beyond.

Short Bio

Dr. Danett Bean is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Traditional Asian Medicine, licensed acupuncturist, author, and nationally recognized women’s wellness expert. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she helps women transform hormonal transitions — including fibroids, postnatal depletion, perimenopause, and menopause — into pathways toward restored vitality, healthy aging, and longer lives. She is the creator of the Back to the Middle Method™, and author of the best-selling book A Taste of Our Own Medicine. Whether she is guiding group programs, providing one-on-one care, or speaking on a national stage, Dr. Danett helps women reclaim their wellness, purpose, and longevity — naturally.

Long Bio

For more than 20 years, I’ve helped women navigate major health transitions — from fibroids to postnatal depletion, from perimenopause to menopause, and hormonal imbalance — transforming them into opportunities for deeper healing, restored vitality, and longer, healthier lives.

Many of the women I work with today are navigating fibroids, hormonal disruption, brain fog, weight changes, and emotional burnout during perimenopause and menopause.

What often goes unspoken is that these challenges rarely begin in midlife. They are frequently the cumulative result of earlier life health experiences — including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, chronic stress, and years of depletion without true restoration.

After nearly losing my life during childbirth and spending years recovering from severe maternal morbidity and postnatal depletion, I experienced firsthand what happens when women are expected to “bounce back” without adequate care. This journey became the foundation for my lifelong work — and for my book, A Taste of Our Own Medicine: Ending Postnatal Depletion, Nurturing Mothers and Healing Communities.

Today, my work is rooted in Traditional Asian Medicine and informed by both clinical practice and lived experience. I speak extensively on maternal health and morbidity, fibroids, perimenopause, and menopause — helping women improve their health across every phase of life to support vitality and longevity.

It also led me to expand my Back to the Middle Method™ — a grounded, holistic approach that reconnects women to the natural intelligence of their bodies and cycles. At its core is the CAP Method™: Clarity. Address. Prevent. This framework helps women understand what’s happening in their bodies, take action with care and precision, and prevent deeper disruptions to health and vitality.

The Back to the Middle Method™ is the throughline of everything I offer — whether I’m speaking to audiences, working with women individually, or creating digital tools and written resources. It shapes how I think about women’s health and how I support others in reclaiming theirs.

I believe our reproductive experiences — puberty, menstruation, perimenopause, menopause — are deeply connected. And trauma and generational wounds can impact how these phases show up in the body. But when we work with the wisdom of our cycles and bodies — instead of against it — we don’t just feel better…

We heal deeper. We age better. We live longer.

In addition to supporting women through my Brooklyn-based practice and virtual care, I’ve served as a member of the New York State Acupuncture Board, as an adjunct professor in obstetrics and gynecology at Pacific College of Health Science, and as a clinical instructor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where I was on the hospital’s medical staff. I’ve also served as medical staff at the Women’s Health Center Empowerment for Housing Works.

I’m a board-certified diplomate with the NCCAOM, a certified herbalist, a certified Earth Qigong for Women practitioner, and an ordained priestess in the Ministry of Maat. I’m also the author of the Fibroid Support Guide and have created numerous digital wellness tools.

Whether I’m speaking on a national stage, guiding group programs, or supporting one-on-one care, my mission is the same: To change the story of women’s health — and to help us fully reclaim our balance, longevity, and purpose.

I invite you to reconnect with the deep wisdom of your body and being.

Experience the Back to the Middle Method™ — and envision yourself centered as you move toward greater health, longevity, and purpose.

Because: You can feel better. You can live longer. And your body knows the way.

Dr. Danett is also available for keynote talks, workshops, and panels on women’s health, longevity, and healing across the lifespan.
