The Right Relationship: You & Your Yoni (Pt. 1 of 2)

http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-images-happy-black-woman-sitting-outdoor-stairs-laughing-camera-image47558814Who knows where it started from? Perhaps it was an uncomfortable look on my father’s face, or the term “women’s problem” spoken in a hushed tone, that left so much mystery. It could’ve been smuggling my pads into the bathroom in junior high school, or just knowing that “down there” was bad. Whatever it was, however it went, I lost touch with my yoni.

I’ve heard many women over the years talk about similar stories, or stories that left us in a similar place, which is… not fully in touch with our yonis. This can contribute to so many issues, from unwarily using pads that make us bleed more, to skipping GYN visits, to a less than fulfilling sex life. Losing touch with this vital part of us has decreased the quality of our lives and, for some, contributed to health issues that scale from mild to severe to even fatal (La la la… chances are you are still breathing, if you are reading this : )

Now I don’t want to be a downer, but it is important that we take in the effects that our choices (or lack of) can and have contributed to our lives.  Because honestly, it all starts with us.

Love being a woman,
